Professional wrestler Jonathan Huber who was known in the ring as Luke Harper in WWE and in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as Mr. Brodie Lee passed away due to a non-Covid-19 related lung issue at the age of 41 on Saturday. Huber first got into wrestling in 2003 as a backyard wrestler, performing under the ring name Huberboy #2 with the likes of Colin Delaney and his real-life brother, who worked as Huberboy #1.
His wife Amanda wrote on Instagram, “My best friend died today. I never wanted to write out those words. My heart is broken. The world saw him as the amazing @brodielee (fka Luke Harper) but he was my best friend, my husband, and the greatest father you would ever meet. No words can express the love I feel or how broken I am right now. He passed surrounded by love ones after a hard-fought battle with a non-Covid related lung issue”.
Harper joined WWE in 2012 and made his television debut on November 7 episode of NXT as a follower of Bray Wyatt, who introduced Harper as the first son of The Wyatt Family.
Harper left WWE in December 2019, subsequently making his AEW debut in March 2020 as Mr. Brodie Lee. He later won AEW TNT Championship.
